Winning Women: Aisha Khan

Salaam ladies, so my blog am.i.na.femshion, consists of my name amina, a mix of feminist and fashion. it came about because i wanted to strike a balance between my 'fashiony' side and my,allow me to say feminist nature. So you've seen all the fashion posts which i have so much fun doing...and now this is the other 'half' of the blog, the feminist posts, which i will be doing occasionally in this new series i call WINNING WOMEN.
I love fashion just as much as the next girl, but what i love even more is a woman who knows she can be anything she wants to be, that BOSS lady mentality.

Meet Aisha Khan, she's 21yrs old and the student representative for the science and technology school at the United States International University (USIU) .Aisha is also part of the student affairs counsel, the only muslim girl on the counsel. I got hold of Aisha from instagram, i knew of her after the almuslimah achievement award where she was nominated for and won the top30under40 almuslimah achievement award. We had a sit down yesterday where she told me about her role in the student affairs counsel, her love for humanitarian work and how she balances between school work and the busy schedule of being a student representative.Aisha is a journalism major, she wanted to become a doctor at a younger age but fate has its plans she says and she does'nt complain.
She hopes to do alot of humanitarian work, something she is very passionate about. As a sensitive soul she says she strives to do the best she can to help anyone in need.
Aisha is part of the 2015-2020 strategic plan for the university. Despite the busy role at the university, she says her education is priority and plans to graduate with honors. Her term is almost done but she does'nt want to vie again because she wants to give someone else the chance to do the things she's been able to do.
Her message to girls, is to know that they can be anything they want to be. The hijab is not a barrier to make something of yourself as young woman. Always smile and dont let temporary sad moments get you down.

That was my time with Aisha you guys, i hope you get inspired by this and if you want to see more posts like this please leave a comment below....speaking of comment, if you're having a hard time commenting as i've been told by some people
